350.org Internation Day of Climate Action, sponsored by Green League.
WHEN: October 24th, 2009. 10:00am - 12:00pm
WHERE: Museum of Discovery and Science - 401 SW 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale, FL
WHAT: CLIMATE RALLY AND ACTION!!!
On October 24th, 2009, people all over the world will take part in local actions to draw attention to the most important number on earth - 350. That is the parts per million of carbon dioxide that the best science available tells is the maximum safe level if we are to preserve a planet similar to the one to which human life is adapted. We have been over 350ppm for twenty years, and the Copenhagen Climate talks later this year represent mankind's last chance to prevent catastrophic climate change.
Please help us raise awareness and create the political willpower necessary for the United States to take a leadership position in Copenhagen and join together with other industrialized countries to stabilize the climate.
Local environmental groups and activists are working together, presenting a rally with guest speakers and an interactive south florida sea level model, followed by a march through the heart of Fort Lauderdale!
Join us to make a difference.
