Cobi Fund Recent Recipients
“January”, a 3 years old tree-walking coon hound, was recently diagnosed with Addison’s disease, an adrenal insufficiency. Damage to the adrenal glands has caused January to be unable to produce one or two hormones necessary to sustain life. January can live a normal, active, happy life with daily medications. The medications replace hormones by providing artificial substitutes called prednisone and inject able Percorten-V.

“Dancer”, a wonderful one-year-old feline, who was found at the shelter with his brother, Prancer, back in December, is a very affectionate feline with tiger markings. The vet suspects Dancer may have feline herpes virus (FHV), which is sometimes called feline rhinotracheitis virus.

Noah’s Ark created the Cobi Fund in 2005 to pay for the surgery needed by a Beagle mix named Cobi and continues to use the fund to raise monies for other adoptable animals that need extraordinary medical help. To learn more about the Cobi Fund and the animals it has helped, or to make a donation to the Cobi Fund, please visit www.noahsarknj.org/specialneeds

LESS THAN PURRFECT DOGS AND CATS CAMPAIGN WINS AWARD
Noah’s Ark has been named a winner of a Maddie’s Fund® marketing competition that increases adoptions of hard to place animals. Maddie’s Fund®, a nationally recognized nonprofit foundation which supports efforts to build communities in which all adoptable animals are placed in good homes and none are euthanized, created the marketing competition to encourage shelters to promote and share their methods for adopting elderly, blind, deaf, plain and shy pets as well as dogs and cats with medical and behavioral problems. The submission from Noah’s Ark received a $500 award.
