We're a local community group working to make New York’s Upper East Side more environmentally sustainable. We bring together neighbors interested in green urban living, including:
Local food (Greenmarkets, Community Supported Agriculture, Green Restaurants, etc.)
Transportation (smart & modern pedestrian-biking-mass transit improvements)
Energy (use reduction, efficiency, and green energy)
Recycling/Waste reduction
Community building
...and any and all proven and novel ways of reducing our community’s negative impact on the environment.
For more information on these issues and what you can do, or just to learn more about us, please check our website: http://www.uppergreen...
Our primary focus is the area covered by Community Board 8 (East 59th Street to East 96th Street, Fifth Avenue to the East River, and Roosevelt Island).
