I also went to this meeting. Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) presided. Senators Pryor (D-AR) and Murkowski (R-AK) and Representatives Jane Harman (D-CA), Fred Upton (R-MI) were instrumental, as were Evan Gaddis, NEMA, Steve Nadel ACEE, and Lane Burt, NRDC. Outdoor lighting standards expected to reduce carbon emission equal to 3-5 million cars adn 6-8 coal plants. Standards are based on increasing LPW (light per watt) and decreasing BUG (backlight, uplight and glare). This is not law yet- likely

I went to this meeting, I wasn't sure I would be able to make it and I just slide in at 2PM and the meeting doesn't actually start until 1/2 hour later. I was glad to be there because I saw an important pat of the legislative process, anmely the press conference. The legislation was a pop fly, palatable to all sides, I doubt there was any significant opposition.
