For the most part, we usually have two different kinds of Meet-ups:
(1): Discussion meetings featuring a short half-hour presentation, followed by discussion. After that, we set aside some time for discussion among ourselves, including networking, information-sharing and planning activities for Baltimore Climate Action Network or "BCAN": www.baltimoreclimate.org, which is an action-oriented advocacy group for sustainability and fighting climate change, mainly on the federal and state level.
or . . .
(2) Action Meet-up, where a small group get together for an activity such as Signing up new supporters at a Farmer's Market, festival, etc.
The BCAN Executive Committee gets together twice a month, usually by conference call, and interested newbies are welcome to listen in.
We are about networking, support, meeting like-minded people, being part of a community, learning from each other about green lifestyles, and especially taking action to make a difference politically ("advocacy!"). Our supporters mostly come from Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
