Optional Pot Luck (if you want, bring finger food, maybe vegetarian, for fun - or not).

This is an informal version of our NEXT MEETING OF: Baltimore Climate Action Network (www.baltimoreclimate.org). (We're a local chapter of CCAN: www.chesapeakeclimate.org).

For the first half hour (from 7 - 7:30) we'll meet, greet & eat. Then we'll share some ideas we have about how to move forward from here. We'll hear some discussion (at an introductory level, for newcomers) about what happened with the Global Warming Solutions Act in the MD General Assembly, and recent environmental success stories state-wide. Then we may decide to break into two groups to hear updates on local developments in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. (There's *a lot* going on in both places on the sustainability front). Knowledgable speakers and delicious food will be on hand.

At the home of Joe Adams, 1405 Berwick Rd., Ruxton, MD 21204; Home: 410-296-6338; Cell: 410-812-1447 joeadams [at] comcast.net

Who attended?

    •  Our biggest meeting yet with 21 in attendance. People said they liked the venue: homey, optional pot-luck with some social time. We decided that future meetings will feature a brief initial presentation (as a draw and for "infotainment"). Next time - an expert on personal steps to reduce our carbon footprints. Also, next time, we'll plan on breaking into work groups at the end, to get more into the nitty gritty. We had some clear action steps at the end, and we'll be keeping in touch between meetings. Minutes, coming soon, will be posted in the 'MEMBERS' section of www.baltimoreclimate.org (upper right corner: username: bcan; password: 2020).
    •  It was a great group of people all with the same goal. Many very good ideas were discussed at the meeting. My only suggestion would be to provide a little more structure with some real goals in place. Overall excellent meeting and I'm very excited about the future...
