Celebrate Arbor day at the Planting Fields! Sun, April 27

A few years ago, I got to plant beautiful redwood trees along the california coast on arbor day and it was a great experience. I wanted to do something this year for arbor day and I found out that there will be a festival going on at the Planting Fields Foundation in Long Island, so I thought it would be nice for some of us to partake in it. As always, I would be happy to bring people in my car from the Hicksville train station.

Arbor Day Festival 2008 from 11AM- 5PM- presented by Planting Fields Foundation will feature tree plantings, tree climbing for children under the direction of Wonderland Tree Care, Inc., children?s nature crafts, storytelling by LuAnn Adams, family concerts by Lyle Cogen, a circus and petting zoo, Flumpa ® and Friends LIVE!, caricatures, free self-guided tours of Coe Hall, a plant clinic, horticultural book and plant sale, wildlife programs, a visit by Smokey Bear and a free tree seedling for every visitor.

Arbor Day Festival goers are invited to bring non-perishable food items to donate to The Interfaith Nutrition Network, an organization that provides assistance to Long Islanders in need.

Admission is $15 per car, seniors 62 and older $6 each without children
