Nick Pine, of Nick Pine Associates, a Solar Energy consulting business, has agreed to lead our discussion of Retrofitting Solar Energy into Existing Structures.

I met Nick at the Sustainable Energy Festival and found him to be incredibly bright, easy to listen to (when he wasn't talking physics, but that was never my strong subject!), and innovative in his approaches to solar energy. Nick advocates using recycled objects from the junkyards and building do it yourself projects for very little money. Best of all, he can show you the economies of what he does, not just in the cost of building, but in the minimal cost of use. I think anyone who is considering a move to solar will get great value out of this discussion, especially if you've been looking at (and pricing) the commercial solar products available.
Since, according to the MorningStar folks, High Street isn't marked, these are the directions from either direction off I78. Make a left off the Bethlehem/Hellertown ramp and proceed south a short way to the traffic light where Crossroads Hotel/Pizza is on the corner and make a Right (that's High Street.) Proceed to the T in the road and make a left on Creek Rd. The driveway is across from the big black mailbox with the number 1966 on it. Parking is in the back behind the barn, weather permitting.
Thank you, Yoris (sp?) and Joanne, from the Lehigh Valley Alliance for Sustainable Communities, for hosting this event at MorningStar!
