Dear Upper Green Siders

At this month's meeting we will discuss a number of activites that we have coming up over the next few weeks. Andreas will be leading the meeting as I will be out of town that day.

First we will discuss the upcoming Parking Spot Squat, where Upper Green Side will take over a metered parking spot and use it for people, instead of automobile storage. It's a statement about how our city misallocates public space in favor of the automobile over the vast majority of people in our neighborhood that walk, use mass transit, bike or just want to enjoy more open public space to sit and enjoy the day. The parking squat will be on September 21st. We will discuss the logistics and parking spots that we will squat that day.

Second we will discuss fundraising activities. Upper Green Side is now a 501c3 non-profit that can accept tax deductible donations. We have a goal of raising $5000 before the end of the year. We would like everyone to help us sign up new members and find folks willing to donate to our cause. We now have a PayPal account that can accept credit card donations online through a secure system.
