Call for Fellows: Immigrants & Parks Collaborative

The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC), in collaboration with City Parks Foundation (CPF) and with support from the J.M. Kaplan Fund seeks applicants for the Immigrants & Parks Fellowship Program, starting in September 2007.

Fellows are the core of the Immigrants & Parks Collaborative, facilitating activities to build stronger relationships between parks and immigrant communities. The nature of each fellow's work is dependent on the host organization's specific goals and approach; however, all fellows bridge parks to immigrant groups to create stronger communities for all. Host organizations provide a meaningful learning opportunity and fellows' efforts strengthen organizations' ability to take on campaigns for local neighborhood change.

Fellows are not hired by the NYIC or CPF through this process; instead, strong candidates are recommended for potential interviews to organizations seeking to hire fellows. The New York Immigration Coalition and City Parks Foundation provide technical assistance through a fellowship program, which includes an initial retreat followed by additional trainings and peer learning opportunities each month during the fellowship.
