?Go Green, Save Green?
11 am - 5 pm
Sunday, May 3, 2009
Mount Trashmore Park, Virginia Beach
For over 39 years, Earth Day has been an integral event, celebrated worldwide, by building awareness and foster
positive changes for our communities and our environment. Since 1990, Hampton Roads has continued this legacy
with the annual Earth Day event at Mount Trashmore ? Hampton Road?s own landfill-to-park success story.
As a part of this year?s Earth Day event, we will be providing an unique opportunity for vendors and exhibitors to present their environmental message and eco-friendly products and/services to our community and a chance to
partake in one of Hampton Roads? highly-regarded events.
Based on the theme, ?Go Green, Save Green,? we are
concentrating on the many small things people can do everyday to make a positive impact on the environment and
our future.
Who comes to Earth Day celebrations? In 2008, we had an estimated 22,000 attendees from all over Hampton
Roads who enjoyed a full-day of fun, food, activities, and exhibits. This year we hope to attract anywhere from
25,000 to 40,000 attendees. This year?s event will feature environmental and science exhibits, interactive displays, demos, crafts, games, food, and live entertainment.
Mount Trashmore Park will allow attendees and Exhibitors to interact in a natural setting and enjoy the festivities together as nature intended.
