Introduction: Hi! There is so much going on today in the "green" arena that I wanted to connect with other individuals who consider themselves environmental activists, or are interested in this topic and would like to help speed local changes.
Are you new to environmental activism and what is your most pressing concern in this area for us locally?: I would consider myself "concerned" about the environment since Earth Science class in the 9th grade. However I began making small changes when I had my 2nd child and now think about what the green alternative is in almost all my choices.
What do you think is the best way to bring about environmental changes? (legislation, grassroots activism etc?): I do believe in grassroots organization, however legilation is also important as laws make up the way we do things in the world we know, and controls big business who in turn makes commerce and economy go round.
Do you know any other avid environmentalists or eco-friendly individuals who may be interested in joining?: Why yes I do....but i'm always looking for more!

“ Sicily, my kids are I are looking into doing a Green Fundraiser, they are 13 and 10 (both boys) and have really caught on to the Green movement. It's also regarding replacing those hectic plastic grocery bags with environmentally safe reusable grocery bags, plus it goes to a Childrens Ambassador program. They've also designed their own organic t-shirts about the environment from a kids point of view. Keep in touch I'd like to help in anyway I can. Shell ”

I have been meaning to connect with you on a campaign I am working on, as well! I am the ODU Campaign Coordinator for the Dogwood Alliance Fast Food Packaging Campaign. We held a press conference yesterday at ODU and had an article in the Virginian-Pilot today. Check out www.dogwoodalliance.org for more info. I am looking for ways to reach out to the community and would like to start w/ environmental groups... I'd love to chat more with you about it.
