Meeting Description
Organized by
- Hank Stone and Robert Walter
Details
We've been discussing "Lifeboat Communities", and how we might prepare ourselves now to live in a future situation of oil scarcity, lack of other resources, and potential upheaval.
We rescheduled our presentation based on Tompkins County's preparations for possible disruption to our way of life for Thursday, March 27th. This will still be held in the Brighton Library, in the large meeting room, with the general public invited.
Meanwhile, we will have our regular meeting for March 12th, at which Hank Stone will lead a discussion on FOOD STORAGE.
Mormon families are called upon to keep a year's supply of food on hand, so their community will be self-sufficient in case of hard times. If people like Lester Brown (Plan B 3.0) and the prophets of peak oil are right, we may be in for some hard times of our own. If so, having a year's supply of food on hand would not solve the problem, but it could prevent riots and panic as society rebuilds itself to cope with long-term scarcity.
Please do RSVP for the 3/12 meeting.
Peace and joy!
