The Rochester Environment June Meetings

ANNOUNCEMENT -- Bob's Agenda is born June 04, 2008

If you're not with me on this I'll be very disappointed.

REMG_core is created, and I hope tweaked properly now, to serve not only my needs as Organizer but also the whole community need to communicate by sharing email, etc.

I have just finished writing a report in "About Us" for you to READ NOW.
Those who feel they've not time for the report probably don't understand our problems anyway and should, IMO, ship out.
Reading the report will lead you to the "About Us" of RMEG_core.
Those who want to seriously participate in The Rochester Environment Meetup Group will act on what they see browsing from
the Rochester Envirionment Group Home Page.

I posted the subsequent description of the June Meetup yesterday.
No one has called or e-mailed me about it and I am pissed.

An Introduction

Stating an agenda for this Meetup is my baby,
It will not be stillborn if you will please cooperate.

We are concerned with pinpointed definition of problems and hope and action for their solution. For the some part, we don't just sit and play "Ain't it awful".
I am highlighting some of our talent and actions

Margie has done two deeds

Sandy

• Has entertained at her home
  
• Introduced me to "The Story of Stuff"

Hank, who seems to end up moderating most discussion, has also

• Documented meetings,
  
• organized meetings and
  
• shared his website

Brian, who is especially well read,

• Steered me to Peter Lloyd's fine pdf which I used for ETP article "May You Live in Interesting Times"

Ken

• Promoted, on his own hook, the film on Cuba' handling of oil shortage
  
• Convened and moderated (with Hank) our Meetup on the Federal Reserve

Keri

• Serves (with Margie) for our liaison to the Sierra Club. (Wish I could be more particular)

Ted

• Participates also in Metro Justice and RAW storefront.
  
• Introduced me to Norma W?????? (When I see or should I call him, I'll learn)

Something that would appeal to me is world hunger and world population, but that's something of a departure from what we've been discussing.
I'm also interested in people's ideas on how the high oil prices and inflation are likely to ripple through the society, on what timetable, and with what results.
